August 6, 1978 a group of residents in the Garrison Trotter community came together for the purpose of forming an association of neighbors to address the systemic challenges and neglect encroaching on their community. From this meeting emerged the Garrison Trotter Neighborhood Association Inc, the longest serving community based neighborhood association in the city of Boston. Through that commitment to service and the improvement of the quality of life for its residents, the GNTA land trust emerged. The GTNA Land Trust mission is to identify, acquire and improve vacant lands for passive recreation and use for all of our residents.
