BRL88: Redline Narratives Documentary Screening & Walking Tour

February 1 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Join the Afrimerican Academy for the opening event of BRL88, an annual cultural and restorative initiative exploring Boston’s history, heritage, and pathways to equitable development.

We’ll begin with a screening of the award-winning documentary Redline Narratives: The Lost Cultural Hubs of Boston, followed by a panel discussion featuring community leaders, cultural historians, and youth voices reflecting on the film’s themes of displacement, culture, and restoration.

This two-part documentary, an official selection of the Access Film Festival 2025 and The Roxbury International Film Festival 2025, unveils how redlining and urban renewal shaped Boston’s cultural landscape — and how today’s communities are reclaiming their stories.

  • Removed – Black Erasure in Boston by Sabby Salvati
  • Redline Narratives: Our Stories by Afrimerican Academy

💬 Panel Theme: Claim Our Space – Telling our Stories
