February 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
FREE

This Black History Month, Boston Cares will host an insightful panel discussion where we will honor a century of Black history commemorations by connecting historical legacy to present-day community action. Join us as we elevate Black leadership, highlight equity-centered service, and mobilize volunteers to address critical needs across Greater Boston! We are honored to be joined by panelists, including: Roeshana Moore-Evans, Founder and Principal of Equity Empowerment, a social impact consulting firm that helps organizations turn bold visions into sustainable, equity-driven outcomes. With more than two decades of experience across higher education, research, public health, and racial equity, she has led large-scale initiatives that reimagine systems, build cross-sector partnerships, and drive transformative change. Kwame Dance, Psy.D., MBA is a clinical psychologist, educator, and community leader with over 20 years of experience advancing equitable mental health and human services across education, healthcare, and community settings. At Cambridge Community Center, he has led the expansion of behavioral health programming and launched two paid mental health workforce development initiatives for Black and Latinx adolescents. Karla Valentin, Daily Point of Light Honoree and dedicated community volunteer who sits on the board at the statehouse and holds leadership positions with several prominent organizations. She has over 15+ years of experience as a Senior Executive Assistant, distinguished by multiple excellence awards for outstanding performance, commitment, leadership, and innovation. At Boston Cares, we recognize that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental values that guide our mission and work. Boston Cares is committed to creating a community where everyone is valued, respected, and can come and participate as their authentic selves. We expect that all volunteers and partners join us in promoting a safe and supportive space for everyone.
