Embrace Honors Harry Hom Dow: Carry It Forward

Kindly RSVP in advance via this ticketing link to help us prepare for a wonderful celebration. Invite your folks to come out and join us for this special event!
About Embrace Honors Harry Hom Dow
When systems were designed to exclude, Harry Hom Dow turned to the law as a tool for liberation. His work challenged injustice and created pathways for those too often left out. Today, his legacy lives on at the 1965 Freedom Plaza and in the leaders who continue to build, organize, and advocate.
This gathering honors that legacy and celebrates a new generation of changemakers. Leaders whose work reflects a community in motion, shaping what AANHPI civic life looks like across generations, professions, and neighborhoods. This AANHPI Heritage Month and beyond, we celebrate them together.
2026 Honorees
Fred Dow · Helen Chin Schlichte · Nick Chau · Paul Lee · Suzanne Lee · Tina Zhu Xi Caruso · Senator Vanna Howard
Together, they carry forward a living and growing story of leadership and collective impact.
This evening also marks the premiere of Living Histories of Color: AANHPI Legacy Series, a new traveling exhibit curated by Embrace Artist-in-Residence Marcia Kimm-Jackson. Through the voices and stories of this year’s honorees, the exhibit invites us to reflect on where we come from and where we must go. Following May 21, this exhibit will be on view at upcoming locations.
